Finding Your Thirsty Crowd

Mark Joyner has come up with an entertaining and educational masterpiece… The Great Formula! It’s 243 pages explaining how you can create the maximum profit with minimal effort. It is a must read if you are involved with any kind of internet marketing.

Everything you need to know about selling can be summed up in 3 short steps:

1. Create an “Irresistible Offer”
2. Present it to a “Thirsty Crowd”
3. Give them a “Second Glass”

The Great formula works because it stresses simplicity and focuses on actions that get results. It’s so down to earth and straightforward that most folks just simply overlook it. In his book, Mark explains some of successful businesses–some you might already know about–and shows you how they used The Great Formula to great success.

The “Irresistible Offer” is one that may take some time to construct, but essentially is an offer that you would be a fool to reject. It will stand out and will turbocharge your customers to spread the word from person to person like a virus. It will answer the four “what’s in for me” questions.

1. What are you trying to sell me?
2. What is the cost?
3. Why should I believe you?
4. What’s in it for me?

If your “Irresistible Offer” can satisfy all four questions above and come out smelling like a rose…then you have created the irresistible offer. It’s like high-octane gasoline for your business that multiplies the effectiveness of everything else you are trying to do.

The thirsty crowd is the folks that want and need your product so much that they just can’t live without it. A good example of that would be if you are in the middle of a dessert and you just happen to have plenty of water that you can sell to the bus load of tourists that just got stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Suppose you created the irresistible offer and someone purchased it and landed on your Thank You page or download page. This is the classic example of the thirsty crowd. Don’t leave money lying on the table. You’re going to give them links to download the products that they just purchased, but why not give them the “Second Glass”. Make an offer to a related product that is priced so reasonably that they just can’t resist it.

There are four “Second Glass” delivery systems:
1. The Upsell
2. The cross-sell
3. The follow-up
4. The continuity

The Upsell
If you are selling a simple version of a product, they might be interested in a larger version. Or if they might pay $10 more for Master Resell Rights to the product they just purchased. Be careful and don’t abuse this approach.

The Cross-Sell
If you sell someone a car, wouldn’t they want to pay just a little more for an upscale sound system? If you are a dentist and do teeth cleaning, wouldn’t your customer want a teeth-whitening product? Cross sell products can increase your profits dramatically.

The follow-up
The follow-up sale is one that comes after either of the two systems above. It may be a day later or a year later. This is where list building and auto responder techniques come into play. If you have a list of confirmed buyers, they likely will purchase additional products from you in the future.

The continuity
Continuity products are those that are offered to your customer on a regular basis. Like a magazine subscription or a paid membership site that keeps producing income month after month. It’s, in essence, built-in, guaranteed repeat sales.

You can grab your own copy of The Great Formula and put it’s internet marketing techniques and principals to work for you in your online business.
