Double Your Blog’s Audience With Twitter
Social Media Marketing has taken the Internet world by storm with sites like Twitter and Facebook. Today website owners are discovering the benefits of tying in their blogs to their social bookmarking sites to create even more exposure. Basically, the way this works, each time a post is made to y
In case you didn’t know, or you were vacationing on Mars, Twitter is a social bookmarking site that allows the user to create “micro posts” in 140 characters or less to whoever is part of your follower list. Twitter started out as a social media site that most users used to communicate to family and friends, though it is now being used by major corporations and major media outlets to communicate information quickly to their customers or viewers. The best thing about Twitter is you don’t need to be a major corporation to use it, in fact you don’t even need to be a business.
This where you, as a home business owner, come in. You can use Twitter to communicate to your followers sending them messages with all types of information. Of course you just can’t send tweet after tweet with sales pitches that will make you very unpopular and people will “unfollow” you. It’s much more subtle than that. That’s when you tie your blog up to your Twitter account, sending informational tweets on auto pilot each time a post is made on your blog.
How is this accomplished? It’s a really simple process so I can outline it here. First create your Twitter account and tie it’s theme to your blog’s theme. The next step is to install a special plug-in to your blog. Go to your plugin’s page and click the add a new plugin tab. Search for the “Twitter Tools” plugin, (Make sure it’s the free plugin from Alex King.) Install and activate it. You will need to set it up first by using the setting tab. You will now automatically create a tweet each time a post is created on your blog.
In effect each time a post is made everyone on your Twitter follower list is seeing the post with a url back to your blog. This is the true definition of viral marketing and it’s done for free, which puts it into the “organic traffic” category.
You can carry the automation a step further by also actively looking for Twitter accounts that are tweeting messages related to your niche that you can automatically follow. This is a bit more advanced and requires some intricate set up. You can get more information at our Twitter Resources website www.Twittasaurus.com
